Common questions
Is the Starter plan really free?+
Yes. Starter costs nothing per month and every new account begins with free wallet credit. You only pay when you add more credit, and only for the tokens you actually use.
What is the difference between a plan and wallet credit?+
Wallet credit is money you spend per token — it never expires. A plan is a rate limit tier: it sets how fast you may spend that credit inside the rolling 5-hour and weekly windows. You can hold plenty of credit on the free Starter tier; a paid tier just lets you burn through it faster.
How do the rolling windows work?+
Your plan has a 5-hour and a 7-day spend allowance. Every request adds its cost to both windows, and each cost drops out again once it ages past the window. You never wait for a monthly reset — capacity recovers continuously.
What happens when I hit a limit?+
The gateway returns HTTP 429 with a JSON body telling you which window was exceeded and when capacity frees up. Nothing is charged for a rejected request.
Can I change plans mid-cycle?+
Yes. Upgrading applies immediately and raises your windows on the next request. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Do you store my prompts?+
We store request metadata — model, token counts, latency, status and cost — for the usage ledger. Prompt and completion content passes through to the upstream provider to fulfil the request and is not retained by us.
Which clients work with this?+
Anything that speaks the OpenAI chat-completions format. Set the base URL to our gateway and use your key — no SDK changes needed.
